Ragged Mountain Recreation Area

The Ragged Mountain area is classic New England style mountain biking heaven!  The history is long, and the stories are full of epic adventures on two wheels.  Climb it if you can.  Don’t feel bad if you need to dismount here and there.   And enjoy the most amazing view of Penobscot Bay and it’s barrier island from the scenic lookouts .  Hang on tight on the way down.

Yes, the trails are challenging but we’re adding to them all the time.   The Kuller Trail is a nice wide XC Ski trail that doubles as a staple for beginner and advanced riders as they either work their way to the summit or take a left turn (south) to the Ragged Mountain Trail, 5 Brooks Trail and the Rollins Road area.  Take a few laps of the Kuller Trail for a nice workout or use it as a stepping stone for a bigger adventure.

Want a ride to remember?   Climb the Red Trail (if you can), take a break at the lookout, and descend the flowy goodness of Dreadnought.  Berms, features for those who like to tail whip or fly…or just get your groove on as you rail your way down the gold (almost amber colored mineral soil ) gravity trail that rivals many of the smooth trails found at bike parks like Highland or Burke.  Dreadnought is a a descend only trail.   Proceed with caution until you are comfortable with it’s features.   Then shred!

The redevelopment of the Camden Snow Bowl ski terrain that was done in 2014-15 disrupted some of our signature trails.  We’re working hard to rebuild them.  Contact Us if you would like to learn how you can help us expand our trail network.

The McNEMBA trail map will be published in mid-April (2016).  Come back soon!
